- Manages the City’s RDA and financial relationship with local businesses, banks, and trade associations, and administers the Small Business Economic Grant Program.
- Supports economic forecasting and borrowing, including revenues, expenditures, and numerous aspects of quantifying tourism and visitation metrics.
- Provides specialized financial and tax analysis to apply public financial tools (DIF, TIF, PID, CRA, etc.) to support community redevelopment and property acquisition.
- Provides asset valuation models for real estate assets, City-owned or pre-acquisition.
- Leads research studies and survey instruments; analyzes large data sets; and prepares ROI pro-formas and analytical presentations.
- Supports the City’s debt portfolio, muni-bond issuances, and relationships with major bond rating agencies and financial advisors.
- Maintains complex statistical models, including multi-factor regression and principal components analysis to support economic forecasting (lodging, nightly rentals, parking, transit ridership, and visitation).
- Assists the City Council and Mayor to recommend and implement the City’s economic and redevelopment goals.
- Ability to communicate complex mathematical and financial concepts to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments, the public and local media.
- A positive leader with experience leading and coordinating small teams and initiatives.
- Skilled in verbal and written communications, including presenting before large groups and media outlets.
- Degree in business administration, economics, statistics, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience demonstrating economic and performance forecasting, detailed financial and statistical analysis, and . Experience may be substituted with other skills and abilities.
- Demonstrated excellence in written, oral, and public presentation skills.
- Master’s Degree or additional studies in related field noted above.
- Experience in a self-managed team environment and self-starter.
- Prior experience leading a small team and/or organizational initiative with cross-departmental implications.
