- Performs skilled and semi-skilled construction, maintenance and road repair work; assists in resurfacing, oiling, patching, sweeping, grading and shaping roads; digs and fills holes; clears and repairs roadway, shoulders and adjoining areas; installs, cleans, repairs and maintains sewers, water pipes and hydrants; clears trash, brush, weeds and debris from roadways, grounds and facilities.
- Operates a wide range of specialized vehicles and motorized equipment, including front-end loader, dump truck, bulldozer, grader, backhoe, tractor, street sweeper, oil distributor, spreader, scraper, roller, chipper, and water truck.
- Inspects, cleans and performs routine maintenance work on trucks and heavy equipment; identifies and reports mechanical problems requiring additional repair.
- Operates power equipment and specialized trucks to transport trash, debris and biosolids.
- Hauls materials, and transports vehicles and equipment to job sites using various trucks.
- Loads and unloads materials using power equipment.
- Completes required daily logs and reports.
- Performs tasks in the interest of public safety and property protection during emergencies; performs traffic control activities as needed; reports safety hazards and traffic problems.
- Utilizes proper safety precautions in all work performed.
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. This is an on-call position to include weekends and holidays.
- Regular and timely attendance is required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must possess a valid Texas Commercial Driver License Class A with a good driving record (additional compensation available for CDL A of $300/month).
- Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure.

- Making routine operating adjustments and repairs to assigned equipment.
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with co-workers and the public.
- Work is performed outdoors.
- Requires constant physical efforts, and ability to lift and carry up to 113 pounds.
