Job Title: NDE Technology Technical LeaderLocation: Charlotte, NCJob Summary and Description:Conducts research in complex, high impact technical or scientific fields.Key Responsibilities and Requirements:Works independently on technical activities without direct supervisionConducts technical searches and analyzes information in support of the project teamDemonstrates responsibility for highly specialized technical objectives or problems where the relationships between cause and effect are difficult to establish and little or no precedence exists, and the use of creative and imaginative thinking is requiredApplies technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplinesDevelops technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.Additional Requirements:Has developed relationships with primary advisors to a research areaProvides assistance to the EPRI sales staff in Member Services and EPRI InternationalCommunicates strategies and results, written and verbal, to program members, potential members and external stakeholders through guidelines, reports, meetings, webcasts, workshops and conferencesContinues to communicate work across EPRI programs to make sure parallel work is informedMay provide oversight of a project team to assure technical and financial milestones are metOrganizes the external and interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budgetSupports the planning and execution of complex project work within the technical department to meet member/client objectives; prepares and presents research reportsManages small or medium (less complex) projects including budgets and resourcesBegin interfacing with national and international technical networks (e.g, manufacturers, consultants, academia and research organizations)Supports proposal efforts and new promotional workDevelops research or services opportunities of value to EPRI members that fit EPRI’s mission and capabilities. This will include solving customer problems, producing insights and information vital to the members, and delivering information in a manner that members and customers can and will applyContinues to provide guidance and mentorship to junior staffEducation:Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience required.Ideal Candidate:The ideal candidate will have in depth knowledge of phased array ultrasonics and be capable of developing and creating focal laws, acquiring data, and performing analysis of final data. Knowledge of advanced phased array ultrasonic techniques (e.g. Full Matrix Capture and Total Focusing Method) is a plus. Experience in the PDI qualification process either as a candidate or an administrator Previously certified to level II or III in the following NDE methods:UT (required)MT (preferred)PT (preferred)T (preferred)RT (preferred)ET (preferred)Experience in implementing NDE solutions:10+ years of experience as a certified NDE examiner (required)5+ years as an NDE Level II responsible for performing examinations and reporting results (required)Proficiency in the following software or applications:MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint (required)Computer Aided Design Software: 2D CAD software (required) & 3D CAD software (preferred)NDE Modeling Software - CIVA (preferred)NDE Data Acquisition and Analysis Software: UltraVision 1 & UltraVision 3 (Required)The salary range for this position is $95,000 USD to $120,750 USD annually.This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s annual incentive program.
