Description :Come join our life-changing team building hope, resilience and well-being as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Day Treatment Program Therapist and Site Supervisor!Shift Details: Full-time – 40 hours/weekCompensation: $60,000-$64,000 for clinical trainee or $68,000-$72,000 for mental health professional - annuallyLocations: MN State Academy for the Deaf - 615 Olof Hanson Drive Faribault, MN 55201About the job: Provide clinical mental health services to individuals, groups, and families within a youth day treatment setting for a community mental health agency. Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team, providing clinical mental health services including diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, skills training, and case consultation. Program curriculum design and implementation. Day-to-day program oversight, site supervision, and direction of mental health practitioners and behavioral aides.Essentials:
  • Provide comprehensive clinical diagnostic assessment, individual, family, and group psychotherapy, and clinical management to address emotional, behavioral, and mental health issues of clients and their families.
  • Day treatment program curriculum design and implementation.
  • In partnership with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program Manager/Clinical Supervisor, review applications to the day treatment program for clinical need and program suitability.
  • Participate in day treatment program enrollment meetings, review meetings, and discharge meetings.
  • Utilize the electronic health record to complete documentation in a professional and timely fashion that accurately reflects clinical services consistent with internal and external documentation standards. Clinical trainees: obtain signatures of supervising Mental Health Professional on all clinical documentation.
  • Meet outcomes set for the position including personal productivity target for billable hours and positive client outcome as measured through client satisfaction survey.
  • Participate in case consultation and team meetings. Provide input to the multidisciplinary team, representing one’s own discipline, regarding client treatment and professional practice.
  • Clinical trainees: participate in clinical supervision at a frequency and method in accordance with the appropriate licensing Board. Mental health professionals: participate in individual meetings with Supervisor at a mutually agreed upon frequency.
  • Collaborate with other providers including social workers, case managers, school staff, medical professionals, and family members/natural supports to coordinate care for assigned clients.
  • Participate in internal quality assurance processes according to agency requirements.
  • Pursue Continuing Education and Annual Training to produce the highest quality of service and expertise needed for the clinic and the organization.
  • Assure program participant privacy is maintained by being knowledgeable of and following HIPAA privacy and security regulations.
  • Provide availability for families to participate in family therapy, which may require some appointments after 4:00pm during the week, and work as many hours as needed to complete the job.
Decision Making Authority/Self-Initiative:Clinical trainees
  • Assess and formulate clinical diagnoses to inform treatment recommendations and goals in consultation with supervising Mental Health Professional.
  • Submit clinical documentation to supervising Mental Health Professional for review and signature.
  • Complete necessary documentation requested by clients regarding application for additional services in consultation with supervising Mental Health Professional for their review and signature as appropriate.
  • Compare and evaluate possible courses of conduct through consultation with supervising Mental Health Professional, and act or make a decision after the various possibilities have been considered. The decisions made may consist of recommendations for action rather than the actual taking of action.
Mental Health Professionals
  • Independently assess and formulate clinical diagnosis to inform treatment recommendations and goals.
  • Complete necessary documentation requested by clients regarding application for additional services.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Counseling, or Social Work or Doctoral Degree in Psychology
Clinical trainees
  • Pursuing clinical contact and supervision hours to achieve Mental Health Professional licensure through the corresponding licensing Board requirements
  • Licensed with a pre-professional license when the corresponding licensing Board requires
Mental Health Professionals
  • Licensed as a LP, LICSW, LPCC, or LMFT
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the mental health field
