- Apply design and construction knowledge in the preparation of construction estimates for installation, replacement, and upgrading of traffic signals, street lighting, roadway signage and sign structures, guardrail, and other DOT-related items.
- Analyze construction challenges, using customer-provided and stand-alone tools, and offer effective and efficient resolutions promptly while working on multiple projects.
- Communicate well with all internal team members, government representatives, and private customers.
- Interface with customers and perform pre-bid site visits needed to gather critical information/data.
- Use construction estimating software, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software including AutoCAD, GIS-based drafting tools, and more.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Focus on ensuring that we provide thorough and accurate bids.
- Ability and willingness to work occasional extra hours to support clients and deadlines, including weekends.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and construction spec. requirements.
- 3 years of construction/electrical or related estimating experience.
- Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
- A valid Driver's License is required.
- Weekly travel within the state. Company vehicle provided. Some overnight stays may be required.
- Some out-of-state travel is required during the training process.
