- Lead, develop, and manage a talented bioinformatic and data scientist team.
- Collaborate with various internal teams, including software, assay development, microfluidics, and systems engineering.
- Contribute to Resilience’s product vision, roadmap, and portfolio with insights and concepts aligned with the company’s mission of creating excellence in advanced biomanufacturing.
- Represent the organization in scientific, business, and regulatory meetings and activities. Architect and design bioinformatic workflows with a strong emphasis on scaling and efficiency.
- Recruit talent (contract and/or full-time) and build high-performance teams, mentors, and coaches’ personnel.
- Oversee project execution (resourcing, planning, and delivery) and guide the organization through changing market /product needs and requirements
- Collaborates with the research scientists and engineering teams towards optimizing our workflows, assays, and instruments.
- Provides bioinformatics and data science subject matter expertise in the planning and execution of cell and gene therapy projects that require advanced analytics methods, ensuring the maximum value is realized for data generated.
- Provide in-depth statistical and data analytical expertise across the organization by collaborating with Research, Development, Quality, Manufacturing, and Sciences Teams.
- Work with the Quality Engineering group to ensure that the team follows appropriate GMP, design history file (DHF), and device history record (DHR) guidelines per FDA requirements and support design reviews according to product development procedures.
- Hands-on experience in building and managing teams that provide bioinformatics and data science solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to set goals, perform long-term project planning, team building, budgeting, and operational excellence
- Demonstrated ability to execute responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, collaborating across multiple sites and stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally across various technical disciplines with multiple stakeholders, including management, peers, customers, and suppliers.
- Extensive experience in developing NGS Bioinformatics applications with demonstrated lead developer skills in programming languages such as Python, R, Go, and Nextflow.
- Experience in verification, validation, and deployment into a regulated environment (CLIA/CAP, GxP, medical devices, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to perform long-term project planning, including designing bioinformatics and data science-centric architecture.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally across various technical disciplines with multiple stakeholders, including management, peers, customers, and suppliers.
- Good organizational skills, with the ability to simultaneously contribute to multiple fast-paced projects.
- Deep understanding of NGS-based assay development processes, algorithms, and workflows, including those related to microbial, RNASeq, and single-cell multi-omics applications.
- Experience in immunology and/or cancer research applications is a plus.
- MSc. or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. Typically, a Director will have at least ten years or more of relevant industry experience.
- Experience in metagenomics bioinformatics and assays in clinical settings.
- Experience with various single-cell data types, including transcriptomics, proteomics, and epigenomics data.
- Experience applying machine learning techniques to single-cell data, including the ability to select appropriate algorithms and evaluate their performance.
- Experience in Agile and/or Product Development Process (PDP).
