This Manager will oversee all Quality regulatory, policy, best practice, and procedural matters. Responsible for delivery and execution of Quality strategy, improvement programs, Global policies for Flowserve and for developing these skills and quality mindsets within the Quality and Operations community. Reporting to Quality Director for the division and dotted line reporting to Business Unit Director of Manufacturing. Can sit in one of these 3 locations: Cookeville TN, Raleigh NC, Sulphur Springs, TX with 30-50% travel.Responsibilities:
- Champion culture change – lead with purpose, core values, and behaviors to promote and fully imbed a Zero-Defect mindset within all employees across Flowserve.
- In support of Flowserve’s overall Quality Strategy, develop and lead the Flow Control Division Business Unit (BU) Quality Strategy including programs, plans, policies, and procedures to ensure and go beyond basic compliance requirements and adopt best practices that enable the highest levels of customer satisfaction and on-time-delivery.
- Support the implementation of BU wide Quality Management System (QMS) to integrate legacy siloed systems to track and reduce nonconformance to specifications, standards, and customer expectations in the most efficient manner possible.
- Promote and implement consistent accountability actions and mindset across all BU facilities globally, such that all employees understand and meet Quality expectations.
- Support Flowserve’s development and implementation of the Flowserve Quality Business System across the entire enterprise.
- Lead standardization efforts to ensure all facilities within FCD BU operate under the same policies and procedures and are measured by the same performance metrics in alignment with global procedures.
- Provide guidance, coaching, mentoring, development, and leadership for direct/matrix Quality team within BU.
- Build relationships and lead with expert consultation, collaboration, guidance with an enterprise mindset.
- Ensure Quality inspection, monitoring, measurement, testing, and recordkeeping requirements are fully completed and maintained in accordance with all company standards.
- Manage and support the implementation of Quality Training in BU facilities.
- Prepare and analyze meaningful Quality performance metrics, prepare reports, and make recommendations to senior management with a focus on actions to improve, both on specific situations and systemic trends.
- Participate in internal Quality audits and regulatory inspections as needed, ensuring that follow up actions are implemented and shared.
- Assess the impact of regulatory changes that affect operations, raise awareness, and ensure compliance.
- Use project management tools to ensure effective and timely completion of project milestones.
- Interface with Engineering, Supply Chain, Material Management, HSE, Lean, and Project Management.
- Support ensuring export compliance at each site.
- Evaluate current Quality Managers.
- Support hiring of new Quality Managers at sites.
- Support Quality Requirements Standardization Project.
- Interact with the functional areas including manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, production, and field service/repair to evaluate failure trends, product quality problems, and quality issues.
- Evaluate existing quality processes and systems at the site and BU level for effectiveness and improvement opportunities.
- Interact with customers and suppliers on quality issues plus resolution of any problems within process and final product acceptance.
- Communicate effectively in both verbal and written form with a wide variety of customers including both internal and external to Flowserve. Communicate effectively with associates at all levels, from the factory floor to executives at Flowserve and Customers.- Provide input, guidance and coaching to site leadership team to ensure continuous improvement.Requirements:- BS or BA Degree in relevant field or equivalent and 10+ years relevant experience- People Manger- Accustomed to travelling to and managing multiple sites.- Ability to drive consistency across multiple plants.- Quality Management experience, including engineered-to-order environments
- Experience in industrial product manufacturing, aerospace manufacturing, or medical device manufacturing
- Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001) management experience, experience in QMS development and deployment
- Skilled in CAPA and RCA tools and able to teach and coach these concepts, especially 8D, 3x5 Whys, and Fishbone
- Skilled in data analysis and quality KPI performance management
- Experience in Quality Software Systems Development and Management- Active role in Internal Quality Audits and Regulatory Inspections
- Organizational and planning skills
- Experience in Procedure Management
- Supplier Quality Management Experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office- Be able to perform and coach others in data analysis and perform root cause analysis.
- Travel 30% to 50%, including international.Preferred Experience / Skills:- Experience in valve, and automation manufacturing, preferred
- Management of multi-national teams (operations, quality, supply chain, etc.)
- Experience with European and Asia/Pacific nuclear standards, preferred
- Nuclear Quality Management experience- Lead Auditor Certified preferred
- Experience with 10CFR Part 21, 10CFR Part 50 Appendix B, ASME nuclear certificates, ASME NQA-1, CSA CAN3-Z299 / N299, NCA-3800, NCA-4000, RCCM, KEPIC, 50-C-Q, and ASME BPVC Section III
