- Curriculum Development: Responsible for the implementation of the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule using the Primrose School Balanced Learning curriculum and materials.
- Classroom Management: Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
- Communication: Maintain open and ongoing communication with parents, sharing updates on their child's development and milestones. Maintain positive partnerships with co-teachers, parents and children.
- Individualized Learning: Recognize and respond to the individual needs and abilities of each child, adapting teaching strategies and activities accordingly.
- Safety and Supervision: Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care, following health and safety protocols and guidelines.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with assistant teachers and other staff members to create a supportive and cohesive team environment.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay informed about best practices in early childhood education.
- Licensing Protocols: Observes all rules and regulations at Primrose School including Illinois DCFS standards pertaining to the health, safety and care of children.
- Candidates must have at least 60 Undergraduate Credit Hours with 6 Hours in Child Development or Early Childhood Education; or a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential OR Candidates must have 30 undergraduate Credit Hours with 6 hours in Early Childhood Education PLUS 1 year of experience (1560 hours).
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 1 Year of previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
