With 3 locations, Worldwide serves the entire United States with new and used tow trucks, equipment hauling and vehicle transport trailers.$30.00 - $40.00/hour based on experience.Responsibilities & Know-How Required:
  • The ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and manual inspections.
  • In-depth knowledge of tow truck systems, including winches, cables, and hydraulic lift mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with vehicle electrical systems, as tow trucks often have complex electrical components.
  • Proficiency in working with hydraulic systems, which are integral to many tow truck functions.
  • Competence in welding and fabrication for repairs and modifications to tow truck components.
  • A strong commitment to safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries during towing operations and repair work.
  • The ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Competence in using computer-based diagnostic tools and software for analyzing and troubleshooting vehicle systems.
  • Efficiently managing time to prioritize tasks and complete repairs promptly, especially in emergency towing situations.
  • Tow truck mechanics often engage in physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy equipment and working in challenging conditions, so being in good physical shape is advantageous.
  • Mastery of a wide range of tools, both hand tools and specialized equipment, used in towing and mechanical repairs.
  • Repair and adjust clutches, starters, alternators, brakes, fuel, replace hydraulic cylinders, winch repairs, cable replacement, basic maintenance and cooling systems

  • Strong communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record required
  • Knowledge of diesel and gas mechanics
  • Mechanic work can be physically demanding, involving tasks such as lifting heavy parts and working in awkward positions. Good physical fitness is beneficial for the demands of the job.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills are important for interacting with customers, explaining repairs, and working as part of a team.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Mechanics should possess strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and fix various issues with vehicles and machinery.
