Required: Five years of experience involving warehousing, stock control, purchasing, shipping, and driver supervision, or related activitiesPreferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Development, Food Service, or HospitalityJOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective: A position involving the storage and movement of food, supplies, and equipment for the Nutrition Department. Safeguards the district’s investment in materials through efficient and effective warehousing practices. The employee is specifically responsible for controlling a central warehouse and delivery system. Performance includes designing, recommending, organizing, coordinating, and supervising the warehouse.Essential Functions:
  • Supervises warehouse, shipping delivery system, and personnel.
  • Responsible for the successful completion of the bi-annual inventory and maintaining a FIFO inventory system.
  • Performs evaluations of employees under supervision.
  • Pulls food and supply orders for shippers to send to school sites when needed.
  • Delivers food and supplies when needed.
  • Ensures the proper amount of food and supplies is on hand for the school serving sites to order for daily menus and a la carte sales.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Current Colorado driver’s license
  • Meet current district vehicle insurance qualifications
  • Food Service Handlers Certificate
  • Pallet Jack certification
  • Knowledge of warehouse use procedures and delivery service
  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of warehouse management
  • Knowledge of types of food and equipment commonly used by schools, including the terminology and nomenclature used in describing them
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, departments, and schools
  • Ability to operate and apply computerized purchasing and warehousing systems
  • Knowledge of food and produce, consistent with set standards
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to make decisions with sound judgment in warehousing
  • Ability to perform all the functions of the position

  • Upper body strength to team lift up to 100 pounds loading and unloading shipments
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and twist throughout the day

  • Upper body strength to push and pull heavy transport units
  • Warm kitchen or cool warehouse with tile or cement floors
  • Work in temperatures of 15 degrees below zero in food storage freezer for short and long periods
  • Work in some extreme weather on occasion
