Our team especially enjoys the many golf courses, parks, rivers and mountains for biking, hiking, skiing, boating, you name it.Daily Workflow:» Responsible to administer competent and compassionate basic and advanced life support care on emergent and non-emergent ambulance calls, following written or verbal physician orders and protocols, working within the scope of practice of a licensed Paramedic.» Responsible to respond promptly and safely to all dispatched ambulance calls and to ensure safe transport of patients to a medical facility, following state statutes for emergency vehicles.» Responsible to provide high quality customer service and patient care by interacting with customers, family members and others in a professional, caring, respectful and dignified manner.» Responsible to provide a safe out-of-hospital environment for self, patients, co-workers, and public through appropriate use of personal protective equipment in observation of all company policies and guidelines.» Responsible to maintain professional and effective radio communications with Communications Specialists in accordance with company Medical Operations Guidelines.» Responsible to assist with daily cleaning of company ambulances and ambulances posting locations and/or quarters.» Assures that the ambulance, equipment, and station areas are clean and orderly at all times. Performs cleaning and restocking as necessary.» Follows proper cleaning and disinfecting guidelines for contaminated equipment and supplies. Properly disposes of contaminated materials.» Promptly reports damaged or out of service equipment to immediate supervisor.» Responsible to thoroughly and accurately complete computer-based Patient Care Reports after gathering pertinent patient health information. Patient Care Reports must be completed in a timely manner and in accordance with Oregon State Law, company protocols, and guidelines.» Required to attend all mandatory meetings, trainings, and in-services.» Responsible to maintain a professional and cooperative working relationship with allied health, pre-hospital, in-hospital, first responders and public safety personnel.» Work attendance and punctuality is an essential component of this job. Adherence to the company's established attendance policy is critical to ensure services to the community.» Protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with the company privacy policy, guidelines, and practices as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principles of professionalism as a health care provider.» May access protected health information and other patient information only to the extent that is necessary to complete your job duties; May only share information with those who have a need to know specific patient information you have in your possession to complete their job responsibilities related to treatment, payment or other company operations.» Report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding company policies and guidelines on patient privacy and any observed practices in violation of that policy to the designated Privacy Officer.» Actively participate in company privacy training and communicate privacy policy information to coworkers, students, patients and others in accordance with company policy.» Other duties as assigned.We're Seeking:» Associates degree in Paramedicine or equivalent education and experience required to obtain an Oregon Paramedic license» Recent Paramedic experience on a 911 transporting ambulance preferred.» Oregon Paramedic License or the ability to obtain provisionary Oregon Paramedic License.» Nationally Registered Paramedic certification. If not Nationally Registered Paramedic certified, must provide proof of continuing education matching Nationally Registered Paramedic standards and requirements at recertification times.» Oregon Driver's License or ability to start the process and/or obtain Oregon Driver's License upon hire.» BLS, ACLS, and PALS or PEPP certifications. Required to obtain eighteen (18) months of start date in position.» Must pass Drug Test and Background Check» Must Pass DMV Check and be at least 21 years old and meet company driving record requirements as listed in the Medical Operations Guidelines in order to comply with the company's insurance carrier requirements for driving company vehicles.» Must successfully complete and pass a pre-employment and annual Paramedic physical exam and functional testing as a condition of continuing employment.» To ensure patient and employee safety and well-being as well as meet the operational needs of serving the community with emergency medical service, Paramedics must be able to meet the physical requirements documented in this job description.» Ability to provide compassionate, caring patient care in accordance with company policies and guidelines.» Ability to communicate verbally via radio equipment and telephones.» Ability to interpret written, oral, and diagnostic forms instructions.» Ability to delegate to and lead EMT partners in completing tasks.» Ability to use good judgment and remain calm in high stress situations.» Ability to calculate weight and volume ratios.» Ability to read manuals, books, and road maps; ability to accurately discern street signs and address numbers.» Ability to interview a patient, family members, and bystanders; ability to document in writing and computerized format, all relevant information in a prescribed format following medical-legal standards.» Ability to converse with coworkers and hospital staff as to status of patient.» Good manual dexterity with the ability to perform all tasks related to highest quality patient care.» Ability to operate company vehicles in both an emergent and non-emergent manner, with due regard for the public; adhering to all Federal, State, local, and Company laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines pertaining to emergency and non-emergency vehicles.» Requires the ability to perform the essential physical requirements of the job as indicated in this job description.Schedule:» Shift work which includes seven (7) twelve (12) hour shifts in a two (2) week period.» Days and hours of work can include any day between Sunday through Saturday and any time between 12:00 am and 12:00 pm.» This position occasionally requires long hours outside of scheduled shifts.» Travel is primarily local during the business day, although occasional out-of-area and overnight travel is expected for training and other offsite assignments.Equal Opportunity Employer: Race, Color, Religion, Sex, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, National Origin, Age, Genetic Information, Disability, Protected Veteran Status, or any other legally protected group status.
