ResponsibilitiesThe Electrical Engineer will be part of a team responsible for the operation and controls of the power distribution systems at multiple manufacturing facilities, specializing in both medium voltage systems and low voltage, primarily 480V 3Ø power distribution switchgear systems.For new equipment installations or upgrading of existing equipment, this role will be responsible for the concept of the overall project scope including the development of procurement documents, which may include one line drawings, as well as the development of technical specifications for the design and construction/installation phases of a project. Additional project scope responsibilities include cost estimation of the various projects phases, evaluating equipment and installation proposals from equipment suppliers and contractors, and detailing and procuring the various parts needed for the project. The overall project responsibilities include: project management, project engineering, coordinating and overseeing the installation and commissioning of the equipment.In addition to project work, this role will support maintenance groups on existing equipment. This role will document, recommend and execute maintenance procedures and upgrade proposals based on a combination of industrial data analysis and troubleshooting results. This role will manage the existing power distributions systems, ensuring the required testing is conducted on switchgear and protective relaying, for medium and low voltage electrical distribution equipment. The role may involve additional responsibilities and opportunities as they become necessary and/or are assigned by management.Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • AutoCAD skills with regards to electrical drawings.
  • Three to five years of experience performing troubleshooting or engineering related functions on medium voltage systems and low voltage 480V, 3Ø systems in an industrial environment.
  • The candidate must have practical experience in electrical power distribution for large industrial manufacturing plants.
  • A strong desire to follow projects and processes from conceptualization through implementation and maintenance.
  • The ability to self-motivate and complete independent assignments or components of group projects on a deadline.
  • Ability to thrive in both solo and team environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The aptitude and desire necessary to be a good student of Poly-America processes, equipment, and procedures.
