DescriptionNumber of Vacancies: 1Area of Consideration: Open to the publicEmployment Status: Part-Time, Temporary (less than 30 hours)Pay Plan, Series & Grade: DS0058/9Salary Range: $22,670Closing Date: Open Until FilledLocation: 4200 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008Brief Description of DutiesReporting to the Senior Project Coordinator (SPC), the Vaccine Outreach Worker is a part-time position at DC UDC Vaccine Education, Awareness and Hesitancy Reduction Project to conduct vaccine education, awareness, and hesitancy reduction workshops in local communities throughout each ward in Washington DC. The position reports directly to the Senior Project Coordinator (SPC) in the Center for Nutrition, Diet and Health (CNDH), a center within the College of Agriculture Urban Sustainability and Environment Sciences (CAUSES) at the University of the District of Columbia.Works closely with the SPC and Principal Investigator (PI) to ensure that all operational and training objectives of the grant are met. Incumbent will assist with preparation of vaccine education, awareness, and hesitancy reduction workshops. The position requires a passion for working collaborative with community members and the ability to deliver community vaccine education, awareness, and hesitancy reduction programs. Work part-time working hours that will sometimes require evenings and weekends based on the workshop schedules for the participating groups.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Works directly with the Senior Project Coordinator for DC UDC Vaccine Education, Awareness and Hesitancy Reduction Project on daily basis to deliver community vaccine education, awareness, and hesitancy reduction.
  • Implements community vaccine education, awareness, and hesitancy reduction programs in assigned locations throughout Washington, DC in designated locations in each ward.
  • Conduct vaccine education, awareness and hesitancy reduction workshops with student interns and volunteers on campus.
  • Optimizes targeted audiences’ workshop learning experiences based on identified curriculum.
  • Assist with projects that enhance educational outreach to the community especially as it relates to educating urban populations.
  • Record, itemize, and submit records for operational purposes as directed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent and significant demonstrated applicable experience in community vaccine education, awareness. and hesitancy reduction.
  • Associates Degree or Bachelor degree, a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in successful community engagement with residents.
  • Exceptional strong verbal communication, organizational, and data management skills.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and love of community education and enrichment programs.
  • Dependability, team spirit, and the ability to interact with individuals of diverse backgrounds and cultural differences with respect and ensure an environment of belonging throughout the institution.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to transport up to 25 pounds of equipment and resources needed to present lessons throughout the assigned community.
