FUNCTION
To identify and develop State-wide and/or regional non-profit affiliates that will lead contracting with governments to bring The Benefit Bank (TBB) tax and benefit services to low and moderate income families in designated states and municipalities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Identify potential partner organizations, develop collaborative relationships among them and develop support for one organization to assume the lead TBB Affiliate role.
• In conjunction with the assigned Solutions for Progress’ sales assist Affiliate and coalition in navigating the political and administrative system to secure State/other funding to develop, implement, and maintain TBB in a State.
• Assist lead and related organizations in setting up effective state-wide TBB Affiliate infrastructure including identification of TBB sites, counselors, training to support and expand effective usage of TBB.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Undergraduate Degree
Graduate Education preferred, but not required
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• This is a high-level community organizing function that requires the ability to influence and support Executive Directors and Boards of state-wide non-profit organizations as well as state executive and legislative branch leaders.
• 3 to 5 years experience with mid and large size non-profits, community-based organizations and government agencies, as well as their structures and processes.
• Understanding of the political system, and the ability to use a power analysis to identify decision-makers and create/implement effective strategies to influence them to act.
• Ability to build multi-faceted relationships based on enlightened self-interest of the participating institutions and organizations.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills are essential.
• Familiarity with the entire Microsoft Office Suite.
