The production manager must have demonstrated expertise in setting packaging assembly lines, automation, plant/facility layout, quality management, procurement, and outsourcing along with expert knowledge in LEAN, 6-sigma, TQM, 5S and implementing kaizan events.
This position will have responsibility for the overall operations of the manufacturing facility in a manner which supports the company’s Safety, Quality, Efficiency, and Cost Objectives. Activities to include-but not limited- to:
• Quickly develop a thorough understanding of the company’s business and manufacturing processes, products and operating philosophy.
• Lead by example – must have a strong “old school” work ethic combined with a progressive approach to managing a manufacturing facility (high expectations and a low tolerance for anything less than world class).
• Be part of the Leadership TEAM that will set the strategic direction for our manufacturing operations and translate the strategy to specific business objectives.
• Establishing/Refining specific performance objectives (safety, labor efficiencies, quality, productivity, On Time Delivery, scrap, etc).
• Implement strategies for plant capacity optimization and overall operating efficiency.
• Provide Leadership, mentoring and professional development support to the rest of the Assembly/Plant Leadership TEAM.
• Provide timely and accurate communications to other members of the Executive TEAM.
Experience
Ideal candidate should possess:
• 5+ yrs experience in operations / manufacturing management.
• Experience in assembly/packaging manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP, MRP & product fulfillment processes syst
