So this is my problem. I have 13 years IT experience. I have a national diploma in information technology, mcse, cna, ccna, vcp, cme, ITIL foundation, ITIL Manager's certificate, Prince 2 practioner, Diploma in Project Management, did my CISSP and Microsoft Operations framework. Never mind my other managment courses. I have spent the last 6 years in the UK gaining vital skills and knowledge. I studied my Butt off to be different from my peers and to actually know what I am talking about, not just be a BS IT guy (you know there are many of them around !). I worked for global companies and currently employed as a senior consultant at one of the largest law firms in the world. Thats the background !

A few months ago, I decided that I wanted to return to Cape Town as I did my time in exile (sorry Tabo !) and I wanted to share the knowledge that I gained overseas. Almost every agency I contacted told me that they only deal with people in the western cape or I have too many qualifications. I tried to tell them I have a house in CT and that I would fly over for an interview (at my own cost). How the hell can you be too qualified, since when is under achievment a better thing ????? I actually take the time and money to better myself, to learn the skills and actually take the exams to certify my knowledge. It took blood, sweat and tears.

Can someone tell me when South Africa decided to dumb down. Why have all this speak about brain drain when people are knocking on the door to come back but are ignored because they dont presently live in SA or seem to be too personally motivated.
